Rasheed Wallace Joins The Jailblazer Squad
Rasheed Wallace and Damon Staudamire were cited for misdiminor marijuana possesion after the vehicle they were riding in was pulled over early friday morning on November 22 2002 by police in Washington state for speeding.
The players were returning to Portland after a game against the Seattle Supersonics which the Trail Blazers won 89-85. The vehicle was stopped just after midnight for going 84 mph in a 70pmh zone in Centrailia Washington.
The offficer noticed a strong marijuana smell coming from the vehicle and initiated the investigation.A drugsniffing dog was brought in to help search the vehicle. Less then 40 grams of marijuana were found making it a misdiminor and not a felony offence Staudamire, Wallace, and the driver Edward Smith of Portland were cited and released.
Wallace, Staudamire, and Smith were ordered to appear in Lewis County district court on December 6. Under Washington Stated law misdiminor possession is punishable with a maximum fine of 1,000 dollars and six months in jail.
