Reuben Patterson, AKA... "The Nanny Stopper"
In 2001 Reuben Patterson while playing for the Seattle Supersonics, entered a modified plea to an attempted rape charge involving his children's 24 year old nanny whom he forced to perform a sex act on him.
He was sentenced to a year in jail with all but 15 days suspended. Patterson served the time in his Cleveland home and was suspended for the first five games of the following season by the NBA.
Patterson was also convictted of misdemeanor assault outside a Cleveland nightclub in June of 2000 for breaking a man's jaw in a fight after the man scratched his car. He was suspended for three games. The sentence was six months in jail suspended, six months of probation,a 1,000 dollar fine, and 80 hours of community service.
Patterson has also had his share of domestic violence arrests. In 2002 he was arrested for felony domestic violence, the charges were later dropped. In 2003 he was again arrested in portland for felony domestic violence.
He was arrested after his wife Shannon, called 911 to report that Patterson had assaulted her in their home. Mrs. Patterson had minor injuries and Patterson was arrested and taken to the Washington county jail where he was released after team mate Derek Anderson posted the 1,000 dollar bail.
