Stay Safe and Secure with New Home Security

A good way to keep the burglar at bay is to install good outdoor lighting. Burglars do not like to have attention drawn to them, so having an outdoor light on a sensor, will mean that a burglar is less likely to approach the house. Within the home you could try using timers, so that if you are out at work, your lights come on automatically.

Windows

As burglars do not want to be seen they will usually head around the back of the property in order to gain entry. They will usually look to force a window rather than break it (less noise), so ensure that your windows are secured with key operated locks.

External Doors

It is important to ensure that all of the external doors at your property are in a good state of repair and that they are strong and have been fitted with high standard locks in order to keep them secure.

Fences and Gates

If you have a fence or a gate at the rear of the property, then it is a good idea to make these fences as high as possible. This is a deterrent also for any burglar, as they will not want to spend time scaling the fence in order to gain access to the home.

Keep all valuables out of sight

If you have any valuables in the property it is imperative that you keep them out of sight. Any thing valuable left in view of a potential burglar means that your home is at risk of break in. Anything such as purses, keys, laptops etc, should be kept out of window view.
